JOHN GODBERS BOUNCERS - SCRIPTED ASSESMENT Bouncers - an ensemble by John Godber portrays lager-swilling lads, lipsticked, lacquered girls, wholly gyrating to the beat of the dance floor; whilst out in the freezing nipping skulk the ever watchful, ever ready, ever observant to that extent brutish bouncers - Lucky Eric, Jud, Les and Ralph. And so begins the journey into the secrets of a Friday nighttime. John Godber along with Bouncers excessively wrote the acclaimed play teechers. Two plays which read the actors to perform a variety of age, sex and stances; exploring the stage piazza with minimal props. Bouncers, implant within the 1980s, explore themes such as stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination. Beneath the buffoonery however, lies some really serious social comment, not so much the voiced comment but the mould of the desperately empty lives of all the credits, male and female, bouncers and clubbers.
